Terms of Use
Last updated: October 1, 2026
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of Uraneko (the “Service”), provided by 株式会社Omluc (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Apple’s Standard EULA applies to the license for the iOS app. These Terms govern Uraneko’s readings, accounts, subscriptions, and related services. They do not restrict rights under Apple’s Standard EULA or applicable law.
1. The Service
Uraneko is an entertainment service that provides fortune-reading content using systems including BaZi (Four Pillars), together with AI technology. Readings describe tendencies and possible currents; they do not guarantee accuracy, usefulness, or any particular outcome. Do not rely on a reading as the sole basis for an important medical, legal, financial, employment, or other high-impact decision.
To provide continuing readings by the same teller, Uraneko stores summaries of your consultations and the facts used in your readings, and uses them as material for later readings. Short memory summaries, including summaries derived from Voice, may be sent to OpenAI when Uraneko consolidates them into background memory for later readings. This storage and use is integral to providing the Service and is not offered as a per-feature switch. You can delete the summaries together with your other Uraneko server data using “Delete my data” in Settings. See the Privacy Policy for details.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are a minor where you live, use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Store-specific age rules apply to purchases.
3. Your account
You must sign in with Apple or Google before your first reading. We keep the identifier issued by the sign-in provider and an identifier for support enquiries. We do not request access to your name or email address from Apple. If Google includes these in its sign-in response, Uraneko does not save them in your profile or our server database or use them. Google’s sign-in service or your operating system may retain sign-in state on the device. A nickname you enter in Uraneko is handled separately as part of your reading profile.
To remove Apple’s sign-in authorization when you delete account data, we store Apple-issued authorization credentials encrypted on our server. A one-use sign-in code is sent to Apple for exchange; we do not store that code or the raw identity token. A Google verification code is likewise sent to Google for exchange, but we do not store credentials for ongoing Google access.
Your readings are held on our server. When you replace a device, signing in as the same person brings them with you. Once a new device has taken over the record, the previous device can no longer add to it. Restoring purchases returns purchase entitlements and eligible previously purchased top-up points; it does not move your readings. We issue no recovery or transfer code of our own.
When both the signed-in account and the device in your hand hold readings, we do not overwrite or delete either record before asking you which one continues. The one you do not continue can no longer be opened.
4. Paid subscriptions
- Paid plans are auto-renewing subscriptions processed by Apple App Store or Google Play.
- The purchase screen shows the actual price and billing period. If a free trial is offered, billing begins automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel beforehand.
- You can cancel through your store’s subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refund requests are handled under the applicable store policy and mandatory law. We do not offer separate prorated refunds for cancellation during a billing period, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
Text and Voice readings use one shared point balance. Required points and the allowance included with a paid plan are shown before purchase or use. A reading that does not successfully complete uses no points. Reopening or restoring the same reading never uses more points.
Points included with a free trial expire when that trial ends. Subscription points are granted for successive 7-day periods measured from the subscription period start and expire at the end of each such period, or when the subscription period ends if earlier. Purchased top-up points do not expire and remain usable after a subscription ends. A top-up does not grant Premium.
Previously delivered readings and free calculated results remain readable after a subscription ends. See Support for purchase restoration eligibility and steps when automatic restoration is unavailable. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
5. Prohibited conduct and restrictions on use
- Decompiling, reverse engineering, unauthorized access, or attempts to defeat security controls
- Imposing excessive load or sending automated requests at scale
- Commercially exploiting readings or Service content without permission
- Using the Service for an unlawful purpose or in a manner that violates public order
If payment fraud, unauthorized access, conduct that threatens the security of the Service, or another material breach of these Terms occurs, or there are reasonable grounds to suspect it, we may restrict use to the extent and for the duration needed to investigate and prevent harm. We may terminate the agreement if a material breach is confirmed and cannot reasonably be remedied or is not corrected after a request to do so. We will normally give advance notice of the reason and the action, but may omit advance notice if urgent protection is needed or notice would undermine fraud prevention. This provision does not by itself forfeit a valid purchased balance. Purchases and refunds remain subject to the applicable store rules and mandatory law.
6. Intellectual property
Text, design, software, and other materials in the Service belong to us or their lawful owners. You may use your readings for personal purposes, including through sharing features provided by Uraneko.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
We do not guarantee any particular outcome from a reading or that the Service will be entirely free of interruptions or defects. We are not liable for damage that is not attributable to us.
Only where damage results from our negligence other than gross negligence, our liability is limited to direct, actual damage that would ordinarily arise. If you paid for the Service during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to liability, the total amount of that liability is limited to the amount you paid during that period. If you made no payment during that period, this monetary cap does not apply.
The limitations in the preceding paragraph do not apply to our intentional misconduct or gross negligence. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or rights that cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory law, including applicable consumer protection law.
8. Changes to these Terms
In accordance with Article 548-4 of the Civil Code of Japan, we may amend these Terms without obtaining individual consent where the amendment benefits users generally, or where it is consistent with the purpose of the contract and reasonable in light of the need for the amendment, the appropriateness of its terms, and other relevant circumstances. Before the amendment takes effect, we will announce the amendment, its contents, and its effective date through the app, our website, or another appropriate method. Where these conditions are not met, we will obtain any consent required by applicable law.
9. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without limiting any mandatory protections you have under the laws where you live. To the extent legally permitted, the district court with jurisdiction over our address will have exclusive jurisdiction at first instance.
